Exploring home waters.

Inspired of reading Mike Valla's book "Tying Catskill-Style Dry Flies" I took the box with some classic dry flies and the P.H.Y. 7'6" 4wt Perfectionist, the old Pflueger Medalist reel loaded with the 4 DT  silk line. And went out for the stream.
Dreaming of the Cattskill's.

Just casting with a cane rod and hear the silk line gliding through the guides is pure joy.
Nice colours.

It's time again..

Finally the time came to go on the first real fishing trip this season. One of the best rivers in the southern part of Norway was the destination. The car was loaded with all the stuff you needed.
Five days only hunting for nice brown trout and sipping single malt in the evening. And of course fishing and trying out the new bambooflyrods i built this winter. Could not be better.

Baetis Rhodani the the dun we hoped would popp up.
And it did in large numbers the first days.
The fish liked it.
A nice 20 inches brown. Using the Tom Morgan 7'6" 5wt. I really liked this taper.

The cabin.
Some parts of the river.
I think this is the most beautiful fish i caught in this river.
Nice brown caught on adult midge size 18 hook.
It's time for single malt.
