Some hard work.

There are quite a few sticks to be planed. So it's good to get started.

The cane stick ready for action.

Some sticks ready for the glue.

Well....the season has just ended but I still dreaming of the next one.

  1. Very cool site! I stumbled onto it from G. Lech and his blogroll. I have to admit that I don't yet own a bamboo rod but I've been building my own graphite flyrods for several years and would love to someday give bamboo a shot. I'll be following along....

  3. Thanks again for sharing this creative process. I bet all that hard work is worth it when you catch that first fish and put a bend on it:) Travels up the rod and right into the soul. Looking forward to the rest of the posts. Just curious if you use that book in the pic as a guide or step by step? Could you tell me what the name of the Book is please :) ? Tight lines.

  4. Thanks.
The book's name is "A Masters Guide To Build A Bamboo Fly Rod" by Everett Garrison & B. Carmichael.
It was the first book I bought and it is could the "bible" among many builders. The book is great but I got two other books that I use more as a guide when building. "Handcrafting Bamboo Fly Rods" by Wayne Cattanach. And George E. Maurer and Bernard P. Elser's book Fundamentals of Building a Bamboo Fly-Rod.
